  • 29 Nov 2013

LDN Architects were the winners of the evening in recognition of its design work on the Abbotsford Visitor Reception Building, a £3 million home constructed almost completely in timber.

The property features a specialist timber frame with weatherboard cladding and curtain walling to external walls and includes a range of sustainable features which contributed to the re-development site achieving a ‘Very Good’ BREEAM rating.

Other shortlisted projects included The Shed, a venue for the National Theatre on London’s South Bank and BSW’s Fort William Sawmill, a project which aimed to turn the site in to the country’s largest and most efficient super mill made entirely out of British timber products.
