Pilkington UK has signed a new deal with Howells Patent Glazing, a specialist manufacturer of patent glazing roof lights and canopies, following the launch of its new solar control product, Pilkington Suncool One 60/40.
Designed for use in both commercial and high-end residential settings, Pilkington Suncool One 60/40 is an off-line coated, mid-range solar control product with a thermal insulation u-value of 1.0 W/m2K. The product has been developed to help maintain a comfortable indoor temperature all year round.
60/40 is the latest addition to the Pilkington Suncool One range, which combines impressive low-e properties with medium solar control performance. The product features a neutral appearance and offers a low internal reflection to help give a clearer external view.
Gary Howells, sales director at Howells Patent Glazing, explained why the company chose to sign the new contract following 30 years of business with Pilkington:
“We have been using Pilkington products for more than 30 years now for a number of reasons. Not only are the products of a high quality, but the business is always able to meet our time-sensitive delivery dates and provides a fantastic level of customer service.
We were really excited when they brought out the new Pilkington Suncool product. Solar controlled glass that lets in the maximum amount of light possible is something our customers have been calling out for. With many other products on the market, the tint needed on the glass interrupts the amount of natural light entering the building. This new addition to the Pilkington Suncool range resolves this issue.”
Joanne Marlow, national sales manager for roof products at Pilkington, added: “Having worked with Howells for more than 30 years, it’s fantastic to be able to continue providing the business with innovative products that meet today’s demands and further enhance customer relationships.
The full range of Pilkington Suncool products includes off-line coated, solar control and low-emissivity glass, designed to help to reduce energy bills and carbon emissions of a building the whole year round.
