Polyflor selected to make new primary school safe

  • 5 May 2017

High performance wood effect safety flooring from Polyflor was recently specified for Leys Primary School & Nursery in Milton Keynes.

The £8 million new build school project received approximately 1200m2 of Polysafe Wood fx PUR safety flooring, installed by flooring contractors Westcotes Flooring working with main contractors Willmott Dixon.

Much needed school places were provided by Milton Keynes Council in Newton Leys with this new primary school, which took its first intake of pupils in September 2016.

High clarity timber effect Polysafe Wood fx PUR safety flooring in the American Oak design was used throughout the school.

Pippa Villa, Headteacher at Newton Leys Primary School & Nursery explained that the school required a floor that was slip resistant to keep pupils safe, and Polyflor provided exactly that.

The Polysafe Wood fx collection has been designed to cope with high levels of foot traffic and features virtually invisible slip resistance. The range includes ten authentic wood effect designs and is enhanced by the exclusive Polysafe PUR polyurethane reinforcement for superior cleaning benefits and optimum appearance levels.

Polysafe Wood fx PUR achieves 36+ on the Pendulum Wet Test with full conformance to HSE Guidelines and the particle based safety flooring standard EN 13845.

In addition, Polysafe Wood fx PUR is 100% recyclable via the Recofloor vinyl take back scheme and contains recycled content.
