Polyflor’s Expona flooring used to motivate gym users

  • 22 Jun 2017

Polyflor‘s Expona Flow PUR flooring has been installed throughout a new gym area at Shrewbury Sports Village in Shropshire.

220m2 of the vinyl flooring was used for the areas surrounding cardio and resistance equipment, the free weight area and walkways.

English Oak from the Wood collection and Meadow from the Cosmos collection were both used. English Oak is a traditional timber design featuring a subtle rustic effect while Meadow is an intense yellow-green shade with subtle pearlescent highlights which creates a fun but functional environment.

Paul Lipscombe, International Flooring Project Manager at Escape Fitness commented, “We love how these two Expona Flow designs work together to create clearly defined pathways around the gym area and a vibrant atmosphere which we hope will help motivate users.”

The range is available in a 2m wide format with a 2mm gauge and includes 50 high performance wood, stone and abstract designs.

It is suitable for leisure facilities and other heavy commercial environments, Expona Flow PUR is enhanced with Polyflor’s robust polyurethane reinforcement which is cross linked and UV cured for a simple polish-free maintenance regime and superior cleaning benefits.

Expona Flow achieves a BRE A+ rating for major use areas in the healthcare sector and Indoor Air Comfort Gold, assuring that VOC emissions are below any globally determined levels. It is also 100% recyclable via the Recofloor recycling scheme and contains recycled material.
