Domus range of ducting systems

Two new products in the Domus range of ducting systems in the form of 90° bends and a plenum with integral flow control device.

The fans, in particular, received excellent visitor feedback due to their very quiet operation – down to 12dB(A) for dMEV and 32dB(A) for intermittent extract fans – and their contemporary design, including interchangeable fascias in a choice of white, silver and brushed chrome effect.

This unique design element was viewed by developers and specifiers as an effective, cost effective means of adding to a property’s overall aesthetic appeal.

For heating and ventilation installers visiting the show, the latest additions to the Domus ducting system range were singled out as especially useful.

New patent pending Green Line high efficiency 204x60mm and 220x90mm 90° bends, which provide a 60% reduction in resistance to air flow

  • significantly lower the duct system’s total resistance and therefore overall appliance energy usage

New patent pending flow control plenum – also for use with Polypipe’s Domus 204x60mm Supertube rigid duct system – was also very popular as it allows for connection to a range of stylish architectural grilles (taking away the requirement for traditional air valves) and enables commissioning to be carried out during installation, for maximum convenience.

Domus Radial MVHR and MEV systems offer quick and simple installation.

New additions include an outlet plenum with optional twin connection for increased air flow, an optional integral flow control device to enable the inlet/outlet plenum to be connected directly to a stylish grille and a 250mm long FireBrake fire-stopping sleeve to prevent the spread of flames through openings in walls and ceilings made for the ducting.

New bespoke Radial duct insulation, to prevent the formation of condensation when the duct runs from the warm to cold areas of a property, was also launched.

Improving indoor air quality through whole house ventilation solutions

Silavent Green Line HRX and HRX2 Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) range provides an effective solution for improving indoor air quality through whole house ventilation solutions which supply filtered, fresh incoming air.

  • energy saving benefits
  • help provide clean and healthy indoor air
  • filters out air bourn contaminants

MPs have recently warned that air pollution in the UK is causing a deadly “public health crisis”, responsible for almost as many deaths as smoking – and this was a much discussed topic on Polypipe stand.
