Decorative safety flooring from Polyflor’s Polysafe Wood fx PUR and Vogue Ultra PUR ranges has been fitted throughout Ysgol Dafydd Llwyd primary school.
Ysgol Dafydd Llwyd is a Welsh-speaking primary school, based in Newton. It has recently been rebuilt, as part of a project funded by Powys County Council and the Welsh Government: the new, contemporary school building can accommodate up to 300 pupils.
The project was overseen by Willmott Dixon Construction. Puma Floors was contracted to fit flooring from Polyflor’s Polysafe Vogue Ultra PUR and Polysafe Wood fx ranges throughout the development.
The school’s classrooms and toilet areas have benefited from the installation of Polysafe Vogue Ultra PUR in the shade Woodland Grey. The flooring boasts a multi-chip design, which features safety particles to provide traction underfoot.
Like all Polysafe flooring ranges, Vogue Ultra offers sustainable slip resistance. It is enhanced by Polyflor’s PUR polyurethane reinforcement, which provides cleaning and maintenance benefits.
The Polysafe Wood fx PUR safety flooring is similar in composition. The timber effect product was specified for installation in the school hall and conference room, in the shade Classic Oak. The Wood fx collection is particularly suited to high traffic environments, such as schools.
Like Polyflor’s Vogue Ultra flooring, the Wood fx range has achieved 36+ on the Pendulum Wet Test. The collections offer comprehensive compliance with EN 13845 and the HSE Guidelines; they also pass the 50,000 cycles abrasion test, which assess the sustainability of slip resistant particles in a product.
With each range boasting BRE Global A+ ratings, the Ysgol Dafydd Llwyd development was able to achieve an overall ‘Excellent’ rating.
