The Guild of Architectural Ironmongers’ new online Education Hub has received high praise from the industry since its global launch in September 2015.
Since the Education Hub’s launch, numbers signing up for the GAI’s Diploma programme have increased 23%, with students studying the same courses in 25 different countries. Forty-seven percent of students are based outside of the UK.
A recent survey undertaken by users of the Education Hub suggested that a large majority rate their learning experience as positive.
The GAI offers the world’s only recognised programme which leads to a qualification in architectural ironmongery to British and European standards, which has been running since 1961.
Designed to be more engaging and accessible, the Education Hub makes GAI’s entire range of education, certificate and diploma qualification and CPD materials available online.
The learning platform contains a range of interactive animations and video clips and offers students greater flexibility to choose when and where they study.
The GAI’s Certificate in Architectural Hardware qualification is currently the most popular course available through the Education Hub. The certificate is a two-stage programme which leads on to the Stage 3 Diploma qualification.
The Hub also offers a Foundation in Hardware for those seeking an insight into the basics of architectural ironmongery, and CPD to keep those already qualified up to date.
Registration has opened for LIFTEX 2025. Now in its 37th year, the show is the UK’s only dedicated exhibition for the lift, escalator and access industry and takes place only once every three years.
