Swingers operates two premium crazy golf venues in the heart of London where customers can experience crazy golf, the finest cocktails and delicious street food. The bar and seating area as well as kitchen and DJ booth at the Swingers West End venue required refurbishing as part of a new extension and UZIN was involved…
With a sophisticated 1920s décor, a top quality floor finish was required to match the magnificent surroundings. Westcotes Flooring Company were appointed as the floor contractors to carry out the 250 square metre renovation.
A variety of different subfloors such as timber, old latex screeds, ceramic tiles as well as a sand and cement screed were discovered. Westcotes Flooring Company therefore decided to partner with UZIN creating a specification to ensure the new floor was installed to the highest possible quality.
UZIN was on hand to provide advice and support throughout the project. With such an array of different subfloors the preparation and correct product selection was key.
Westcotes Flooring Company had to mechanically prepare all the existing surfaces, consider expansion joint details and movement tolerances. Utilising UZIN’s range of products different materials were used to prepare the subfloor in provision for the new floor coverings. UZIN RR 203 crack repair mesh was used in combination with UZIN NC 182 rapid repair to infill any cracks.
Flooring grade plywood was also installed over the timber areas to increase rigidity. UZIN NC 888 S fine repair mortar was then applied over the plywood followed by a coat of UZIN PE 350 primer and UZIN NC 196 fibre reinforced smoothing compound.
UZIN PE 280 primer was used over any non-absorbent substrates followed by UZIN L3 Gold a rapid drying and low stress 2 part smoothing compound. The vinyl and bespoke luxury vinyl tile floor, designed in conjunction with the client, were then installed.
UZIN provided all the solutions and expertise this technically demanding project required. Westcotes Flooring Company were therefore able to refurbish and install the new floor to the highest of standards.
The new floor looks stunning and the client are extremely happy with the outcome.
Richard Woodward, Project Manager, says: “Westcotes Flooring have delivered this project in conjunction with UZIN to a very high and impressive standard.
“The sub-floor had a variety of challenges, that were swiftly overcome to great effect by all parties. The end result and floor finish looks amazing.”
