Primaflow F&P has strengthened its offering to independent plumbing merchants nationwide, with the addition of Geberit Mapress copper fittings – the first press-fit range to be made available by the wholesaler.
The range is available exclusively to independent merchants through Primaflow F&P, with the majority of fittings being available for next-day delivery from this month.
The new range, suitable for gas and potable water installations, as well as open and closed heating and cooling circuits, comprises a comprehensive stock of Geberit’s core Mapress copper fittings, including copper bends, couplings, T-Pieces, adaptors and caps.
John Byrne, Primaflow F&P’s Category Manager for Plumbing ,explains why press-fit offers such an attractive proposition for installers – and in turn, plumbing merchants.
“Having started out as a light commercial product, press-fit fittings are fast becoming one of the top methods of choice for installers working on domestic projects,” he said.
“Press-fit enables installers to join pipes without welding or soldering. Safety is improved, as work does not require an open flame – and with no consumables required, the fittings represent a more economical choice.”
The simple press-fit connection system of Geberit Mapress also includes coloured pressing indicators, which offer easy identification of both materials and unpressed joints during the installation process, reducing flushing time and making for a much cleaner installation process.
There is also no need for lubrication, and joints will weep until pressed to show incomplete pressing during pressure testing.
Crucially, press-fit systems have been proven to take 30% less time to install than their traditional counterparts according to a BRSIA report, helping reduce the cost of jobs by approximately 27%, compared with screwed steel pipework.
Primaflow F&P will be the sole distributor to independent merchants for the selected Geberit Mapress range. Each item in the exclusive range comes with a 25-year warranty, with the majority of products available for next-day delivery when ordered before 5pm on weekdays. The full range is available here
