Range Roofing makes new hotel weathertight with Protan single ply membrane

  • 3 Jul 2017

Range Roofing is making a new hotel at Emirates Old Trafford weathertight with some 1000m2 of technically-fixed Protan SE1.6mm single ply membrane.

The membrane has been supplied to the four star hotel at the home of Lancashire County Cricket Club in red, to reflect the corporate colours of the club.

Range Roofing’s Peter Faulkner explained, “In partnership with the developed Galliford Try we agreed Protan SE1.6mm would be appropriate for the hotel at Emirates Old Tafford, meeting the stringent quality and durability criteria required to help achieve best value.”

Protan SE single ply membrane, available in 1.2mm, 1.6mm and 1.8mm, is certified to deliver, and potentially surpass, the energy efficiency requirements laid down in Approved Document L, and, under the Green Guide, achieve an A+ rating.

Hot-ait welded at joints and mechanically fixed to the roof, the membrane achieves durability in excess of 30 years, with air leakage controlled/minimised in line with latest Building Regulations.

Protan, a member of SPRA, offers a full support service, from a RIBA-certified CPD programme, NBS specifications and in-house CAD design through to technical advice and variable warranty depending on specification is provided from the company’s UK offices and training facilities in Warrington.
