  • 10 Dec 2014

Recofloor members who have tackled their vinyl flooring recycling and pushed forward their achievements over the past year will be recognised at the fourth annual Recofloor Awards Event to be held at Leicester Tigers Rugby Club on Tuesday March 17th 2015.

England rugby legend and former British Lions captain, Bill Beaumont will present trophies and certificates to Recofloor members who have helped divert increasing volumes of vinyl flooring waste from landfill.

Interactive nominations

Once again, competition for the awards is intense and a new interactive entry system introduced for this year has been designed to make it easier than ever for more members to participate.

Members can submit details online of why their company should be nominated for an award in four categories.

  • Construction Project of the Year
  • Contractor of the Year
  • Distributor of the Year
  • Drop-off Site User of the Year

Members can also nominate an individual who champions the scheme within their company for the Recofloor Champion award.

The other categories are:

  • Greatest Improver
  • Best Newcomer
  • Outstanding Achievement
  • Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards, which all reward members’ commitment, contribution and achievements in 2014

Material collected by Recofloor’s 620-plus membership is recycled back into products, such as new flooring and traffic calming products, which benefits

the environment and significantly reduces collectors’ waste disposal costs.

Carla Eslava from Recofloor explains: “Our members eagerly look forward to the Recofloor Awards event where they can network, share expert knowledge, learn more about the scheme and, of course, celebrate their achievements together. We are looking forward to welcoming both existing and potential new members on the day, so please put the date in your diary”.

2,000 tonnes recycled

Thanks to the entire flooring supply chain, from the two leading manufacturers and distributors to contractors and fitters, Recofloor continues to go from strength to strength.

Since its 2009 inception, Recofloor has collected well over 2,000 tonnes of smooth offcuts, smooth uplifted vinyl and safety offcuts for recycling into new products.

Members can register here for the event, which is free of charge and includes lunch and refreshment
