Franz Huelle, of REHAU, has been appointed to committee roles in both the British Plastics Federation (BPF) Pipes Group and the British Standards Institute (BSI).
German-born Franz, Head of Technical for Building Solutions at REHAU, has been with the company for over 20 years, working in various technical roles, covering heating and plumbing and building products.
This news reinforces REHAU’s position as a pivotal influencer in the UK plastics industry.
In July, it was announced Franz would be taking up the position of Chair for the BPF Pipe Group’s Building Services application group (AG2 WG1), looking at hot and cold applications for plastic pipes and systems.
The British Plastics Federation Pipes Group is the leading trade federation of the UK plastics pipes industry.
Weeks before, Franz was appointed to Chair of the British Standards Institute (BSI) Committee on plastic pressure pipes (PRI/88/2).
The committee provides input to CEN, ISO and other relevant standards on plastics piping systems and components for pressure applications, including water and gas distribution and industrial applications.
Franz brings a plethora of technical knowledge and experience in polymer product development and application to his two new roles; here, he can positively influence the industry and contribute to its growth.
Franz is looking ahead to undertaking his new roles, something which he reflected.
“There is a lot of standards development work going on in plastic pipes and I’m joining these two bodies at an exciting time.
“I’m very much looking forward to working together across the industry with like-minded people to deliver the best possible standards and guidelines so installers, consultants and end consumers can always have the highest confidence in plastic pipes.”
