Polyflor has recently donated Polysafe safety flooring to the new RSPCA Bury & Oldham facility at Strinesdale Country Park, Oldham.
The centre provides a home for around 50 cats and 15 dogs and features a veterinary suite and a cat and dog ‘meet and greet room’.
Local building contractor Emanuel Whittaker began installing the flooring in February 2016 and the completed centre opened its doors in May 2017.
Polysafe Mosaic PUR safety flooring was used throughout the building in various shades to indicate different zones. Reception, shop, corridors, dog meet and greet room, operating theatre and clinic feature the blue Freshwater shade. The beige Akoya design was fitted in the cattery, upstairs office area and training room.
Polysafe Mosaic flooring in Sunstone was chosen for the isolation rooms where dogs and cats who need to be separated from other animals in the main kennels and cattery for health reasons are kept.
Polysafe Mosaic PUR is a high specification, decorative safety vinyl flooring available in 10 colours with an impressive high density flake decoration and safety aggregates incorporated in the vinyl. The flooring complies with HSE and UK Slip Group to give sustainable slip resistance, achieving 36+ on the Pendulum wet test and adhering to EN 13845 – the European standard for safety flooring.
Polysafe Mosaic flooring was coved up the walls and welded to provide a hygienic surface that can be easily cleaned. In addition, it is robust and therefore can withstand regular cleaning with animal-friendly Anigene disinfectant cleaner.
The flooring features Polyflor’s high quality polyurethane reinforcement which is cross-linked and UV cured for a low cost, lifetime polish-free maintenance regime.
Denise McCabe, Operations Director for the Bury Oldham and District branch commented, “We are delighted with the finished look of the RSPCA Bury & Oldham branch and are very grateful to Polyflor for their generous donation.”
Polysafe Mosaic PUR ranges are manufactured in the UK and contain recycled material and is 100% recyclable via the Recofloor vinyl take back scheme. Samples can be ordered free of charge on the Polyflor website or by calling the Polyflor Samples Direct Hotline.
