Rural Energy employee scoops up Pera Training award

Craig Shuttleworth of Rural Energy has won the ‘Most Achieved SSW Learner’ award at the Pera Training awards ceremony in Leicestershire.

The awards, which were held at the Hincley Island Hotel, celebrate learners and employers who have excelled during Pera Training’s Skills Support for the Workforce (SSW) courses by showing exceptional progress and impact on their business.

A member of Rural Energy’s IT department, Craig’s success represents a significant accolade for Rural Energy as they continue to position themselves as leaders in the biomass industry.

Dedicated training programme

Rural Energy provides on-going training to its staff and has recently put several employees through the SSW programme. 

Pera Training AwardFunded by the European Social Fund and the Skills Funding Agency, the SSW scheme helps to improve the skills of employees in small and medium-sized businesses. Rural Energy’s qualified team of staff means that customers can expect the highest quality service with a broad and detailed knowledge base at their disposal.

After completing the six month training programme, Craig was officially recognised for his dedication and progress as he completed a level three qualification in Leadership and Management. 

Craig commented: “I feel honoured to be recognised in this way and would like to thank Rural Energy for putting me through the training. 

My new skills will not only help me work more efficiently but will also have a positive impact on the team around me, as I put what I’ve learnt about leadership to the test.”
