Sadolin and Sandtex provide the perfect combination for Chepstow Hotel

  • 15 Nov 2019

Sandtex X-Treme X-Posure® and Sadolin Beautiflex® were recently used as part of the exterior makeover of the family-run Beaufort Hotel in Chepstow.

Wanting to update the building’s exterior appearance, the owners of the hotel contacts Cardiff Crown Decorating Centre, having previously used Sandtex on the hotel’s facade 12 years ago and been impressed with its durability.

Crown’s colour consultant Kathryn Lloyd worked on the project, identifying the ideal colour scheme – Ral 7015 and British Standard 00A01.

Located close to Chepstow’s high street, Beaufort Hotel required high performance, durable products that would stand the test of time. Based on this requirement, Crown specified Sandtex X-Treme X-Posure and Sadolin Beautiflex.

In addition, Sandtex X-Treme X-Posure was used on the hotel’s exterior masonry and will protect the building against the elements for up to 20 years. Its excellent adhesion and flexibility ensure that the Beaufort Hotel’s exterior remains protected and attractive for years to come.

Then, for the exterior woodwork around the hotel’s windows, Sadolin Beautiflex was specified. Its microporous formulation resists cracking, peeling and flaking provided the wood has been properly prepared, to offer protection for up to seven years. It offers excellent opacity and colour retention, and is available in a myriad of colours – making it the ideal solution for Beaufort Hotel’s revitalised colour scheme.

Beaufort Hotel’s owner, Michael Collins, comments on the transformation: “The exterior of the hotel has been transformed, and we’re incredibly pleased with the finished result – receiving positive comments on how smart it looks from both customers and members of the local community. Thank you to the team at Crown Paints, who have been helpful from start to finish.”

Damon Delaney, key account manager for Crown Paints, added: “We worked closely with the team at Beaufort Hotel to ensure we found the right colour scheme and products for the refurbishment of the hotel’s exterior, which looks fantastic. Our technical team work hard to ensure all our products including the Sandtex and Sadolin ranges provide excellent durability and a superior finish for clients, so it’s great to hear that the client is so pleased with how the hotel now looks.”
