Schueco UK has announced it will continue its sponsorship of the Schueco Excellence Awards for Design and Innovation in conjunction with RIBA Journal.

The company is now inviting submissions for the 2016 awards, with the closing date for entires set for the 4th April. The Excellence Awards Presentation will take place on the 23rd June at the Leadenhall Building – also known as The Cheesegrater – in London.

Now in its third year, the Schueco Excellence Awards recognise architects and fabricators across both the commercial and trade residential sectors, celebrating the very best in UK building design.

Awards are given in nine separate categories: commercial building; cultural building; education building; health building; refurbishment project; residential development; individual house; steel award and specialist contractor.

The judges will be looking for submissions which demonstrate creativity, innovation and build-team collaboration. All submitted entires must include at least one Schueco system.

The panel of judges for 2016 consists of Hugh Perman, editor, RIBA Journal (chairman); Paul Monaghan, director, Alford Hall Monaghan Morris; Louise Cotter, director, Carr Cotter & Naessens Architects; Jose Silva Hernandez-Gil, associate, Duggan Morris Architects; Chris Macey, Group MD, Wintech Group and Steve Mudie, director, alinea consulting.

Following the presentation in June, the RIBA Awards supplement will be available to download from the Schueco UK website.
