SE Controls launch smoke control compliance animation

  • 19 Mar 2020

SE Controls has launched an animation to highlight the importance of smoke control compliance; designed to educate those within the construction industry, the video illustrates best practice to ensure the installation of smoke control systems within buildings are compliant to EN12101-2.

Aimed at those responsible for ensuring life safety within buildings across all sectors, the animation encompasses the importance of compliance to guarantee the protection of tenants, that the fire service can do their job, and it also highlights the consequences of non-compliance.

Martin Oates, Director of Global Sales at SE Controls, commented: “Since the Grenfell Tower tragedy in 2017 there has been a much greater focus on the fire safety of high-rise buildings, primarily in the residential sector, and it has never been more important for individuals to take responsibility and put sufficient measures in place to ensure the safety of residents in all buildings.

“As smoke control systems are among the most highly regulated parts of a building’s design, we are delighted to have launched our latest animation to help raise awareness of smoke control compliance in a creative way.

“To ensure that critical life safety systems are designed, installed, certified and maintained to mandatory legislative standards, we would urge designers, architects, facade consultants, contractors and installers to register for access to our Tested Solutions portal today.”
