SE Controls set to deliver key lecture at new Smoke Control Association training course

  • 27 Feb 2017

SCA has developed a new training course, providing an insight into smoke control legislation and practices.

The course will involve a key lecture by Will Perkins, Group Managing Director of SE Controls, on the latest systems, installation methods and maintenance requirements.

Involved in various aspects of the smoke control sector, the SCA is an independent body of experts which are keen to promote best practice in the industry, particularly when associated with life safety systems.

‘Introduction to Smoke Control – A Beginner’s Guide’ is a half-day course, being staged in London at Trox UK’s offices on 29th March 2017. The course is aimed at building services engineers, building control inspectors, fire engineers and SCA members.

The main aim of the course is to increase knowledge of legislation and systems, providing delegates with a better understanding of smoke control and helping them identify best practice and improve industry standards.

Will Perkins explained that more often it is smoke rather than fire that claims lives, therefore a building’s smoke control system, enabling escape routes to be kept clear, can significantly improve life safety protection.

The course will provide essential and valuable introduction to smoke control, compliance and the importance of ensuring that industry standards are constantly being improved and enhanced, he added.

A booking form to secure a place on the course can be downloaded from the FETA website.
