Leading fenestration designer and manufacturer Senior Architectural Systems has announced the launch of a new range of low U-value doors.
Previewed at The Build Show in October, the PURe door system is set to launch in early 2016.
The PURe doors feature the use of an enhanced thermal barrier, manufactured from expanded polyurethane foam.
The range includes folding sliding, inline sliding, lift and slide, and single and double patio door options.
Thermally efficient doors
The new PURe system can achieve U-values as low as 0.93 w/m2k when calculated as a CEN standard folding sliding door.
The range has been developed to complement Senior’s PURe windows system, which offers U-values of 0.71w/m2k when calculated as a commercial CEN standard window.
The significantly lower U-values of PURe doors mean substantial improvements can be made to the overall carbon footprints of buildings, resulting in a reduction in energy bills in the process.
Due to the products high thermal efficiency, the need for features such as photovoltaic roof panels or expensive under floor insulation is also reduced.
Flexible design
Designed with flexibility in mind, Senior’s PURe range is simple to adjust and install.
The doors are available in a full range of standard RAL colours, and for bespoke projects, colours can be matched to specific requirements. There is also a dual colour option which allows different shades to be specified for the internal and external surfaces.
The PURe doors are suited to a wide range of applications, and are available in a wide choice of configurations.
Options include the choice for further thermal enhancements and a heavy duty lift and slide option. Double glazed and high performance triple glazing units are also available.
Designed to meet and exceed future Building Regulations, PURe doors have been developed to meet the Secure by Design (SBD) standards and are guaranteed to be weathertight, having been fully tested to BS6375 parts 1, 2 and 3.
