Senior PURe aluminium glazing a focal point at Darlington’s latest leisure spot

  • 5 Dec 2016

Senior Architectural Systems has provided a range of aluminium glazing solutions to the new Feethams leisure development in Darlington.

Developed by Urban + Civic, the regeneration project has seen a former bus depot transformed into a new cinema, hotel and several new restaurants.

The design scheme has been heavily influenced by the local landscape, using traditional style red brick arches contrasting with glazed doors, windows and curtain walling above.

Included in the specification was Senior’s patented PURe aluminium window system which was installed by Neu Glas Ltd at the scheme’s new Premier Inn hotel. The system offers some of the lowest u-values available on the market, as well as excellent acoustic performance.

Senior’s slim line curtain walling and SPW500 doors were also used within the restaurant and retail buildings, and curved curtain walling was installed at the new cinema complex.

Another key feature is the curved glazed head screens around the perimeter by the roadside which were fabricated and installed by Frostree Ltd.
