Senior’s Aluminium Day returns for its fourth year

  • 20 Feb 2023

Senior Architectural Systems is once again flying the flag for the aluminium industry with the return of its dedicated social media event – Aluminium Day.

The event will take place on Monday 13 March 2023, with content across Senior’s social media platforms and website. Created in 2019 to recognise and promote the benefits and uses of aluminium as a building material, the event has continuously grown in popularity as more companies from across the construction industry and beyond share their views and success stories.

Sustainable

This year, the theme of the day is sustainable manufacturing and how those that produce and work with aluminium products are striving to reduce the environmental impact of their processes.

As well as providing an update on the continuous improvement of its own sustainable manufacturing techniques and ongoing product development, Senior is also inviting contributions from other companies to highlight the successes, and challenges, the industry faces.

From the responsible sourcing of aluminium and use of recycled materials, to embracing manufacturing techniques that reduce embedded carbon, Aluminium Day will provide the perfect opportunity to shine a light on this important industry issue.

Competition

The 2023 Aluminium Day event will also include an exclusive competition, with the chance to win a luxury break for two at Grantley Hall Hotel in Ripon, North Yorkshire.

This Grade II hotel was refurbished and extended back in 2019 to incorporate a variety of sustainable design features including Senior’s own patented low U-value PURe® aluminium windows which feature on the hotel’s new-build extension. More details on how to have an involvement will be shared across Senior’s social channels and website over the coming weeks.

‘Interesting conversations’

James Keeling-Heane, Senior’s sales director, comments: “We are proud to once again host Aluminium Day and look forward to the interesting conversations that it encourages. We’re keen to hear from anyone in the industry that has thoughts on the big issue of sustainability and efficiency across the aluminium fenestration industry and the wider construction and manufacturing sectors.

“Above all, we hope that Aluminium Day inspires companies large and small to talk about their work, their products and just get involved in celebrating all things aluminium!”

Aluminium Day 2023 will take place on Monday 13 March. The date itself, the 13th day of the third month, gives a nod to the fact that aluminium is the third most abundant metal in the world and its atomic number is 13.
