The UK’s leading subframe provider, SFS, has launched a quick, simple, and secure cavity fire barrier – NVELOPE® CFB.
Designed to protect cavity walls against the spread of fire, SFS’ new range offers three levels of high-performance protection for horizontal applications, and an added option for non-ventilated vertical applications.
Created with specialist cladding contractors and designers in mind, SFS’ NVELOPE® NV CFB fire safety solution provides an appropriate barrier to meet most subframe projects’ specific fire safety requirements.
David Fraser, Business Unit Manager at SFS, comments: “As one of the market leaders in subframes and fixings, SFS now offer an additional range to support the design and installation of bespoke rainscreen solutions. The launch of SFS’ new fire cavity barrier range will not only make designing the system easier with our expert advice on-hand but will also ensure fire safety is integrated into the SFS solution.”
Building cavities offer a ready route for the spread of fire and smoke at any given point. SFS’ NVELOPE® NV CFB solutions prevent this by creating an intumescent seal in a fire situation.
The active ingredients in the barrier react quickly in fire emergencies and provide fire protection ranging from up to 60 minutes to up to 120 minutes. As a result, this mitigates the issue with alternative rubber-based fire barriers which can give off smoke and fumes in application.
David continues: “The new range has been extensively weather-proofed and age-tested to provide the highest level of fire protection, regardless of external conditions. With everything we do at SFS, we want to make sure our products are reliable and as easy to install for building contractors as possible.”
With years of experience leading the market, SFS’ new NVELOPE® NV CFB products offer a quick, simple, and secure solution to fire prevention within rainscreen cavities. To find out more, visit https://uk.sfs.com/systems/nvelope/cavity-fire-barrier
