Shine and colour for resort assured with Knauf AMF

Acoustic ceiling systems from Knauf AMF have provided the necessary sound absorption required to ensure a Croatian hotel’s active and quieter zones work in harmony.

Amarin, a stylish hotel in the popular coastal resort of Rovinj, can now welcome guests in the hotel’s elegant and spacious reception area with 700m2 of AMF Mondena System A metal ceilings installed.

This enhanced its polished, chic interior and added a visual contrast to the smooth white surfaces around the entrance to the hotel.

This choice of metal ceilings proved ideal for the opulent reception area because it improves speech intelligibility, due to the excellent sound absorption they offer.

The benefits of sound absorption is that it creates a relaxing ambiance in the hotel bar and lounge. The polished surfaces of the metal ceiling and wall around the bar reflect each other, creating the impression that they flow into each other.

For the recreation spaces, Heradesign was used. This made them brightly coloured, which accentuate the external landscape.

With its unique, organic wood-wool woven surface,  Heradesign was the perfect choice for helping the architect express his vision, as it can be specified in any colour, thus enabling true design freedom.

In a palette of different colours, 1,770m2 of Heradesign was installed throughout the hotel. Not only is it visually impressive, but it also offers outstanding Class A sound absorption.

This can effectively reduce intrusive background noise coming from the activity zones, ensuring guests in the quieter areas can relax in peace.

Heradesign’s humidity can get up to 90% RH and can withstand wet conditions, making it the obvious choice for the hotel’s indoor swimming pool and spa.

In just 18 months, the hotel was built, costing €40 million and Knauf AMF were instrumental in making sure the deadline was met within budget.

The team were on site to assist with the ceiling plans, offer support with the installation and provide advice on selecting materials that satisfy both the acoustic and design needs of the hotel.
