STA to demonstrate the benefits of structural timber at Timber Expo 2016

  • 25 Aug 2016

The Structural Timber Association (STA) will be taking part in this year’s Timber Expo to promote the industry-wide use of structural timber frame to further increase market share. It will also highlight the benefits of becoming an STA member and provide best practice pocket guides for those working within the sector.

Exhibiting in Hall 3, the STA will represent more than 390 members across the structural timber sector and supply chain. It will be co-located with the Structural Timber Awards.

The STA will be offering visitors technical advice alongside STA produced guidance encouraging sector growth, such as the Why Timber Frame? Guide. Pocket guides on structural timber frames and structural insulated panels (SIPS) will also be available.

The Structural Timber Association is dedicated to supporting the growth of its member companies, the structural timber frame sector and wider construction industry.

Andrew Carpenter, the Association’s chief executive (pictured above), described the Timber Expo as the ideal platform for promoting structural timber’s benefits, which include: quicker speed of build, reduced reliance on onsite labour and reduced on site waste.

The growing popularity of structural timber has been demonstrated by the investment in the sector by companies such as Legal and General.

The STA will be appearing at the Timber Expo as part of UK Construction Week, taking place at the Birmingham NEC between 18th – 20th October 2016.
