Ancon Building Products and Ibstock Kevington have collaborated to produce a stainless steel based system, which has been designed to create brick-faced soffits and lintels.
Combining a lightweight brick-faced steel unit from Ibstok Kevington with one of Ancon’s MDC stainless steel bracket angle support system, the new Nexus system has been designed for quick and simple alignment on site.
It offers easier handling, coupled with vertical and horizontal adjustability.
Suitable for fast-track or time-limited projects, the system weighs over 50% less than traditional cast concrete alternatives. This allows for quicker installation.
Individual Nexus units are designed and prefabricated off-site to suit different soffit dimensions. No cutting is required; they can be drilled into the pre-fixed Ancon MDC support system using T-head bolts.
The units can be fabricated using any brick or masonry with the chosen product being cut from the same batch as the main façade; this ensures a visual match.
Various brick patterns can be specified to match individual project styles and designs.
The system’s components are engineered for resilience and economy, having been tested for long term durability by Lucideon: slips are permanently bonded to the Nexus system using a BBA accredited bonded system.
