The Stannah Group of Companies has achieved a President’s Award (10 consecutive Golds) in the internationally-renowned RoSPA Health and Safety Awards, the longest-running industry awards scheme in the UK.
The company has scooped the prestigious award in honour of its practices and achievements in guaranteeing its employees, customers/users, suppliers and members of the public using lift equipment get home safely at the end of each day.
The RoSPA Awards scheme, which receives entries from organisations globally, recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
The Stannah Group of Companies delivers lift expertise across both the commercial and consumer sectors, with its portfolio of lift products including escalators, moving walkways, loading systems, people moving lifts, goods lifts, homelifts and stairlifts.
Its maintenance portfolio in the UK totals more than 91,000 lift products.
Group Managing Director, Jon Stannah, commented: “The health and safety of everyone in, or affected by, our business practices and using our lift equipment is our number one priority.
“There is nothing more important to the Stannah Group of Companies. Everyone in our business has earned this accolade by their focus on safety and they can all be proud of this achievement.
“In particular our health and safety internal team should be praised for their vigilant work that has resulted in ten consecutive golds to earn us the prestigious RoSPA President’s Award.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, added: “The RoSPA Awards are the most highly-respected in the health and safety arena, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, and allow organisations to prove excellence in the workplace, demonstrating a commitment to the wellbeing of not only employees but all those who interact with it.”
The majority of awards are non-competitive and mark achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels.
Gold medals, president’s awards, orders of distinction and the Patron’s Award are presented to organisations sustaining the high standards of the gold level over consecutive years. RoSPA’s top accolade is the Sir George Earle Trophy.
