Stroma Certification approved as Legionella training centre

  • 1 Oct 2015

Stroma Certification has announced it will provide Legionella Risk Assessment training courses to assessors and installers, having been awarded training centre status from Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance.

The course, Legionella Risk Assessment Training (HABC L2 Award in Legionella Awareness (Hot & Cold Water Systems) (QFC), is a one-day course, composed of two modules – Legionella Awareness and Hot & Cold Water Systems.

The course covers all aspects of Legionella and relevant legislation.

The legionella training offers applicants an introduction to what Legionella is, how it can be managed and how surrounding Health & Safety legislation relates to property assessments.

Implementing Tracker

Stroma will also be carrying out live demonstrations of its Legionella sotware, with specific Legionella Risk Assessment forms, to further confidence and competence when carrying out assessments.

Following course completion, students will receive the HABC L2 Award in Legionella Awareness (Hot & Cold Water Systems (QFC)).

The programme runs as a complementrary course to Stroma’s Inventory Training which aids assessors with the skills to provide compliant property assessments for the Rental Market. A recent survey of the energy assessor industry found that 80 percent of assessors would be interested in adding Legionella and Inventory to the current trades they offer.

Certification schemes

Stroma Certification has recently expanded its Legionella and Inventory services to include two new certification schemes – Legionella Certification and Inventory Certification.

Installers and assessors can join these schemes providing that the relevant Legionella or Inventory training has been completed.

The schemes will maintain Legionella and Inventory competency and high-quality standards and also offer a diversity of opportunity for assessors and installers to expand into the Rental Market.

Managing Director, Matt Ferguson said: “At Stroma, we always adapt to the changing industry, ensuring the highest quality of training to maintain compliance.

The approved training centre status from Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance provides Stroma Certification with a new industry quality mark which will support our already popular Legionella Risk Assessment Training courses.”
