Builders Merchant Building Index (BMBI)

Launched in 2015, the monthly Builders Merchant Building Index (BMBI) report is the only reliable measure of Repair, Maintenance & Improvement (RMI) building activity in the UK. Based on GfK’s General Builders Merchant Panel of actual sales-out data, BMBI includes all national and regional merchants representing over 80% of builders’ merchants’ sales to builders.

The BMBI Experts, speaking exclusively for their markets, are an integral part of the Index. As industry brand leaders, they are in direct contact nationally with all levels of their markets. They help to make sense of trends for users of the building index and explain issues and opportunities in their markets.

The Experts currently include Knauf Insulation, IKO PLC, Alumasc Water Management Solutions, Timbmet, Crystal Direct, Hanson Cement, Keystone Lintels, Keylite Roof Windows and Encon Insulation.
