Surface & Materials Show

Showcasing the latest solutions to be brought to market, the Surface & Materials Show has teamed up with SCIN Gallery to create an interactive feature at the event, taking place at UK Construction Week this October.

Bringing together the diverse areas of ecology, design and construction, the Surface & Materials Hub will introduce the new and exciting materials that will be shaping construction in years to come – giving visitors a practical opportunity to view and handle the materials in person.

SCIN Gallery

As an independent and highly credible materials sourcing and advisory company, SCIN Gallery is well placed to provide insight into the latest innovations and trends.

Reflecting its mission to curate a range of global materials from the individual original thinker, to the laboratories and think tanks of some of the largest research establishments, the materials on display will showcase a cross section of the most creative and unique products to be developed recently.

SCIN Cubed

SCIN Gallery will also be hosting SCIN Cubed – a gallery of 60cm3 display pods that provide a platform for materials exhibitors to showcase their products in a more intimate environment.

With a handpicked selection of materials on display, the cubes help visitors to really delve into the stories behind the materials, by giving an opportunity to talk to the most innovative and passionate product designers on a one-to-one basis.

Annabelle Filer, Managing Director at SCIN Gallery: “Our aim is to find fresh materials and show them to architects, designers and specifiers in an inspirational and informative way.  We love meeting people that are curious about the new and unique, and partnering with UK Construction Week on the Surfaces & Materials Hub is a great way for us to share some of the latest developments with the wider industry.”

Nathan Garnett, UK Construction Week show director: “SCIN Gallery is one of the most influential and authoritative voices in the design industry so we are absolutely delighted to welcome them to the show. The research, innovation and unique insight this will add to the event is absolutely second to none and I am very much looking forward to seeing the materials they choose to showcase.”

Combining nine shows under one roof, UK Construction Week will be the biggest construction trade event the UK has seen in years.  Taking place at the Birmingham NEC from 6 – 11 October (with the trade only days from 6 – 8 October) the event will unite 1,000 exhibitors with an expected audience of 55,000 visitors.

Visitors will be able to attend Grand Designs Live, the Build Show incorporating Civils Expo, Timber Expo, the Surface and Materials Show, Energy 2015, Kitchens & Bathrooms Live, Plant & Machinery Live, HVAC 2015 and Smart Buildings 2015.
