Surrey based carpenter approves of Fein’s new sanding pad

  • 12 Mar 2018

To test out its 130mm triangular sanding pad, Fein approached Jon Sanders, an experienced bespoke carpentry & joinery business owner based in Surrey.

Jon ensures there is a massive emphasis on planning, delivering all cutting and sanding work in advance. When on the job, the Fein multi-tool and accessories are always immediately on hand to save Jon time and effort, whilst providing the best finish.

Recently, Jon needed Fein to come to his rescue whilst delivering bespoke cabinets, which were sanded them down before lacquering, using a circular oscillating machine with a 3mm oscillating pad to achieve the initial sanding results he needed.

Deeper into the job, he noticed he had forgotten to finish the backs with a finer grit; he therefore called upon his corded Fein machine and the new 130mm pad. He put the piece onto the oscillating machine, placing a 180 grit sheet over the sanding pad.

What he especially took a shine to about the pad was how it secured tightly into the fitting system, with no wobbling when the machine is in operation.

He found it outperformed the smaller pad which was used on multiple occasions before in such circumstances. Although it was bigger, he felt it got into tighter areas and was far easier to manoeuvre.

He also approved of the foam backing within the pad itself, offering decent density and balance and said he would highly recommend the pad.
