Sustainable Drainage System legislation faces further postponements

Local authority Approving Bodies have been informed that work approving SuDS schemes on new developments will not be given the go ahead from October 2014, but instead plans for implementation of Schedule 3 of the Flood and Water Management Act will be announced in the summer.

Alex comments, “SuDS legislation is a vital element of measures to combat surface-water flooding. There is only a narrow “window” for implementation, but based on previous experience, further delays can not be ruled out.”
