Liverpool-based fabricator and installer Prescot Windows is a strong believer in using SWISSPACER for all of its windows; from PVC-U to aluminium, its sealed units include SWISSPACER, for performance that lasts the lifetime of the window.
Their most popular window style is the Residence Collection, a window and door system designed to replicate the look of 19th Century timber; these installations make use of SWISSPACER’s Georgian bar for an authentic heritage-style appearance, with supreme energy performance.
Lee Draycott, Director of Prescot Windows, commented: “A lot of our installations are within conservation areas of Liverpool, meaning any potential changes must go through Liverpool City Council.
“We’re the only company approved to install in Liverpool’s conservation areas – no easy feat – after many samples going to multiple conservation officers, it was finally accepted!
“We use SWISSPACER for outstanding energy performance and a seamless, high-end finish. We also colour match the frame to replicate the authentic heritage look as much as possible, as requested by the Heritage teams in planning departments.
He added SWISSPACER comes in a range of attractive colours which really complement the windows and that they even had a customer who wanted bi-fold doors with warm edge, in Anthracite Grey, but saw the SWISSPACER Titanium Grey and subsequently had the colour of the doors altered to match the spacer because they liked it so much, something of a rare occurrence.
“Customers are very interested in energy performance”, Lee continued.
“So we have literature in the showroom explaining thermal output. It’s our job to educate them that warm edge spacers make a big difference to performance; we even have an outdated French window that shows an aluminium Georgian spacer, and for us, it’s a ‘what not to do’ demonstration!”
Prescot Windows is a family business; established for 40 years, it has seen three generations of the family work in the company, covering everything from customer quotes to fabrication, quality control and installation.
