SWISSPACER has been named ‘Presenting Sponsor’ for global sailor, Matthias Eigenmann, who is completing the ‘Clipper Round the World’ sailing regatta in support of the Ocean Cleanup project.
The regatta departed from Albert Dock in Liverpool on Sunday 20th August.
All participants are amateur sailors. Guided by a professional skipper, each team will sail eight legs, covering approximately 40,000 nautical miles across six oceans.
Matthias, who will sail on the Greenings race team, will be away for 11 months, sailing around countries such as Uruguay, South Africa, Australia, China and the USA.
Matthias is raising money for the Ocean Cleanup, a project dedicated to developing new technologies to tackle pollution and catch plastic and waste in the ocean.
SWISSPACER shares Matthias’ passion and concern for environmental issues. With eight million tons of plastic entering the ocean annually, the company recognises the importance of proactively supporting initiatives like the Ocean Cleanup.
‘SWISSPACER is delighted to be ‘Presenting Sponsor’ for Matthias Eigenmann,’ comments Andreas Geith, the company’s Managing Director. ‘Like Matthias, we’re passionate about energy saving, and committed to recycling and reducing waste wherever possible.’
