Tackling the Peaks Challenge with charitable REHAU

  • 22 May 2018

31 REHAU members of staff will be partaking in the National Three Peaks Challenge this year, to raise money for the charity Scope.

The gruelling Three Peaks Challenge, taking place in September, involves climbing the three highest peaks of the UK – Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) – over two days.

Challengers will walk 23 miles across the three peaks, with an ascent totalling more than 3000m; therefore, training and preparation is vital.

The staff involved come from varying departments and locations from the UK, Ireland and Italy, with the cost of the challenge (including travel and accommodation) covered by the company.

To aid the walkers’ endeavours to raise money, a fundraising event will take place each month until August, with all money raised going to Scope, REHAU UK’s chosen charity for the year.

Gareth Jones, Marketing and Technical Director from REHAU, commented: “The Three Peaks Challenge is not only a significant personal challenge to each one of our employees taking part, but it’s also something that is bringing us together as a company and helping to build a fantastic team spirit around achieving a common goal.

“Whether people are taking part directly, helping to fundraise, or attending a fundraising event, we are very much in it together, and it’s a positive experience for everyone.”

The challenge starts on Friday 7th September, finishing on Sunday 9th with a celebratory lunch in Blaenau, where REHAU’s manufacturing facility is situated.
