The latest Builders Merchant Building Index (BMBI) report shows builders’ merchants’ value sales edged up +0.9% in July compared to the same month in 2023.
Q3 of 2021 recorded the second-highest quarterly BMBI sales ever. However, there are signs of a slowdown as volume growth gives way to value growth, driven by price increases.
The latest figures from the Builders Merchant Building Index (BMBI) reveal that builders’ merchants’ year-on-year value sales to builders and contractors were 14.5% higher in July 2021 than the same month last year, with two less trading days. Average daily sales in July climbed 25.5%.
