TAPER LOC System helps create secure balcony with unobstructed views

  • 22 Sep 2016

C.R. Laurence’s TAPER LOC System has been installed as part of the redevelopment of a private residence to create a stunning balustrade at the rear of the property, providing uninterrupted views over the Devon coast.

100 % Stainless specified the TAPER LOC system in order to create a secure balustrade that would not obscure the occupants view, but would be strong enough to withstand the wind rolling in from the sea and create shelter from the wind.

The balustrade was created using a 15mm top mount heavy duty base shoe, with TAPER LOC tapers, and a 48mm diameter slotted stainless steel handrail which sits on top of 15mm glass with a rubber gasket.

Dry glaze system

dsc05424TAPER LOC is a dry glaze system which requires no need for cement, suitable for laminated toughened glass from 12 to 21.52mm thick.

Fifty percent faster to install than traditional alternatives, the taper has been tested to meet BS6180:2011, CEBTP and AbZ.

The system’s horizontal design allows it to be adjusted, dismantled and reset. The base shoe can be surface or side-mounted, and provided drilled or undrilled. It is available in 3m lengths and made from aluminium.
