The National Federation of Terrazzo Marble and Mosaic specialists (NFTMMS) have helped create the new interior at offices in the City of London, as the popularity of the company as colourful and high performance flooring continues to grow.

In Opera Group were selected to supply the terrazzo material for the floor and marketing director Enzo Favro says: “This was a significant project for us as we worked closely with architects AHMM on refining the design in terms of optimising sizes, thickness and specification, as well as providing samples throughout the process for design and quality purposes.”

An example of the Terrazzo flooring being used is in the reception and lift lobby areas of the Grade II Listed 1 King William Street, with visitors receiving an impressive welcome.

Ben Leach of architects AHMM says: “Our design intent was to use Terrazzo for its robust and hard-wearing performance but also because it is visually interesting material.”

The job required plenty of care and attention throughout, with the luxurious inlay in the reception area of two-tone triangular tiles testing skills in design, fabrication and installation.
