The building industry remains one of the most dangerous workplaces. The industry has become a much safer place to work highlighted during the Olympic 2012 construction process which was completed without any direct workplace fatalities.
The Health & Safety Event is focused on how we can eradicate work health risks and save lives – hence the catchy tag line ‘3 days to save a life’. I will be there to see what is new in the industry.
The Health & Safety Event is a free to attend. Birmingham NEC – on 22nd to 24th March 2016. The event offers 200 exhibitors and extensive streams of free educational content being delivered over 3 days with new ideas on making the workplace safer including:
- The British Safety Council and IIRSM will deliver insights into HSE strategy, managing cyber risk and legislation updates
- Blackline Safety will be demonstrating a voice-enabled lone worker solution with new safety monitoring devices
- Smart Employee Eyecare that help ensure companies complete legislative compliance when it comes to employee eyecare
- Fire Protection Association (FPA), the UK’s national fire safety organisation, will be launching a new membership body to represent the emergency evacuation sector
- Scott Safety launch a higher flowrate powered air purifying respirator (PAPR) for the industrial market
- Impacto Protective Products offer help to prevent cumulative trauma and repetitive strain injuries including new anti-vibration gloves
- more new products and services will be demonstrated in the Live Innovations Theatre
And don’t miss former international rugby player Rory Underwood will draw on his experience of flight safety to provide an enlightening talk on behavioural safety.
