Triple-glazed roof windows provide insulation for self-build project

  • 20 Jul 2015

A total of 14 triple-glazed roof windows were selected for the self-build home, which was designed by Brennan and Wilson Architects’ Julie Wilson.

Providing insulation

The roof windows have been designed to feature widened sash frames to minimise thermal bridges.

This offers improved window insulation and energy efficiency.

The windows were fitted on the south-facing roof of the Passivhaus building, which is based in North Berwich.

They were combined with solar PV and solar thermal panels to provide high thermal efficiency and significant energy savings.
