Aggregate Industries has introduced the Titan ABG Paver, a heavy duty paving fleet, to the UK’s highways surfacing industry.
The Titan ABG Paver is a unique piece of heavy duty paving equipment, unrivalled in Europe. It is capable of laying asphalt and hydraulically bound mixtures of up to 300mm thick and 13m wide in a single layer.
Aggregate Industries is the only company within the UK to have obtained rights to the fleet. With the Titan ABG Paver, it boasts the capacity to lay asphalt or hydraulically bound mixture across a full carriageway width in one pass.
The Titan ABG Paver’s method ensures the placement of a smooth surface; it eradicates the problem of additional joints, which are often created when two, standard sized paving machines are laying in echelon. Ultimately, this ensures the creation of an improved surface finish for the travelling public.
By eliminating the need for multiple pavers and gangs working in close proximity, the Titan ABG Paver helps to significantly reduce health and safety risks.
As the machines can cover wider sections and lay at increased depths, laying can be completed at a reduced time; the use of one machine for a single job will help Aggregate Industries to keep its carbon footprint to a minimum.
The company hopes that, by introducing the Titan ABG Paver to the UK, it can help the highways surfacing industry to develop and move forward.
