Vent-Axia Wins Domestic Ventilation Product of the Year at H&V News Awards

  • 7 Jan 2021

Market-leading ventilation expert Vent-Axia has celebrated winning the ‘Domestic Ventilation Product of the Year’ award at the prestigious H&V News Awards.

Scooping the award for its pioneering Lo-Carbon PoziDry Compact Pro, which offers an ideal solution for combating condensation and mould in problem properties without a loft, the Sussex-based company received the accolade at a virtual awards ceremony on 25 November 2020.

Demonstrating the company’s design leadership in tackling the problems of indoor air pollution in the home, over a third of the shortlisted products in the category were designed by Vent-Axia.

Furthermore, Vent-Axia’s PureAir Sense was also highly commended in the ‘Air Movement Product of the Year’ category at the awards.

The H&V News Awards recognises and celebrates the outstanding achievements from across the heating and ventilation industry. This year saw the first ever virtual ceremony due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with winners announced online by comedian and host of the event, Tom Allen.

Vent-Axia beat stiff competition to win the Domestic Product of the Year category, with the standard of entries extremely high. After a rigorous judging process, the company’s Lo-Carbon PoziDry Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) was selected as the winner, with the judges particularly impressed with the potential of the new technology for the retrofit sector, especially for older properties.

Tom Wodcke, Product Manager at Vent-Axia, commented: “We are absolutely delighted that our Lo-Carbon PoziDry Compact Pro won the Domestic Ventilation Product of the Year award at such a prestigious event.

“With everyone spending so much time at home, domestic indoor air quality has never been more important, with good ventilation also having been proved as vital in reducing transmission of COVID-19.

“Being highly commended in a second category adds to this great achievement and shows that Vent-Axia is leading the industry in ventilation design.”

The Lo-Carbon PoziDry Compact Pro offers a totally new way of thinking about wall-mounted Positive Input Ventilation (PIV), making it ideal for combating condensation and mould in problem properties without a loft.

This allows even small homes to take advantage of the benefits of PIV, improving indoor air quality and helping combat condensation and mould.

Boasting many unique features, the PoziDry Compact Pro is the size of a shoe box and is the smallest PIV unit on the market, yet is still powerful enough to effectively tackle condensation and mould. It’s so small it can fit inside the decorative boxing used to cover its ducting.

The PoziDry Compact Pro also boasts quick and simple installation. Featuring a unique removable inner cartridge, its foam back plate weighs just 130g ensuring there is no need for installers to lift a heavy metal box above head height to mark drilling holes.

The inner cartridge contains all the critical components of the unit, meaning repairs or replacement is easy.

Electricians simply unplug and remove the central cartridge, leaving the ductwork, wiring and mounting undisturbed during re-installation. By only replacing the inner cartridge there is less plastic waste and less fuel for shipping, thus lowering the installation’s carbon footprint.

Meanwhile, the Vent-Axia PureAir Sense is designed to improve the air households breathe with a pioneering odour sensor that increases airflow when the air quality is poor, helping ensure a healthy living environment.

When the sensor detects a strong odour, the fan speed increases and quickly extracts the odour to help ensure the air always feels fresh.

This premium fan is an ideal addition to bathrooms, and can easily be retrofitted, combining a host of intelligent features, quiet operation and an attractive design, as well as featuring a simple to use LED touch panel and app control functions.

With a minimal design and low noise levels the Vent-Axia PureAir Sense is unobtrusive, fitting easily into bathroom decor and ticks all the right boxes as a premium fan.
