Ventilated façade system utilises off-site construction

  • 23 Jul 2015

The system has been designed to provide a fully ventilated cavity, which keeps the timber substrate moisture-free.

Offering compliance with all UK building regulations, TRADA and NHBC, it is compatible with both render and brick slip finishes.

Timber Basin development

The Alumasc Ventilated System was used on the Timber Basin development in Glasgow – providing 108 homes for Queens Cross Housing Association.

The system’s ability to replicate traditional construction design, whilst being adaptable for the closed panel production line, was a key factor in its specification.

Off-site solution

A fully off-site manufactured solution was delivered with only a small element of external on-site fabric work required.

Alumasc’s lightweight arctic brick slips were used as the final finish, with 75% of the brick slips applied off-site.

The Alumasc Ventilated System has been developed for easy installation; off-site construction ensures that sites are kept in good order as the majority of the required building materials are being stored and assembled in a factory environment.
