Derbyshire-based metal and waste recycling specialist, Ward, has launched a new asbestos drop off service for smaller loads or one-off jobs.
Asbestos is dangerous to human health and must be disposed of safely by a licensed contractor. It is not widely accepted at household waste recycling centres, meaning it can be difficult to dispose.
The new service for the safe disposal of cement-bonded asbestos launched last month. It is aimed at residential and commercial customers in need of a fast and reliable way to safely dispose of the hazardous material.
Donald Ward, Operations Director at Ward, commented: “There are often cases where trades’ or householders working on smaller projects in renovations of older properties or home DIY-ers dismantling a garage or lean-to unexpectedly find themselves with asbestos for disposal.
“Due to the minimum quantity limits at many disposal sites, they struggle to find somewhere to safely dispose of it at a competitive rate.”
“Our Chesterfield and Ilkeston facilities are fully licensed for handling hazardous waste and can accept small loads less than 150kgs at a new special rate or larger loads of asbestos up to a number of tonnes at the most comparative rates in the area.
“We’ve launched the new service so that people can easily book in and drop off cement-based asbestos and be sure that it will be disposed of in a safe and responsible way.”
The new service allows customers to book in and drop off up to four bags or 150kgs of cement-bonded asbestos at Ward sites, for an exclusive rate of £95+VAT, including all legal paperwork such as a consignment note. The team also offers free advice and support for all enquiries.
As a multi-award winning, independent fourth generation family business, Ward continues to strive to be at the forefront of the bulk metal recycling and waste industry.
An ISO accredited business, it provides safe, reliable and responsible handling of waste including metals, wood, plastic, food, glass and mixed materials.
