Weathershield Smooth Masonry paint used at sensory garden

  • 30 Oct 2014

The mural is situated in a sensory garden at the Bristol Royal Infirmary

Specified due to its durability, 15 year guarantee and availability in a range of colours, the coating contains a fungicide that inhibits mould growth on the paint film to allow the mural to retain its original appearance for years to come.

Also chosen as a primer for wood surfaces was Dulux Trade’s Aquatech Preservative Basecoat , a water based product specially designed for use on new and bare wood to provide protection against blue stain, mould growth and damage from sunlight.

Artist, Sinta Tantra, designed the garden which incorporates a selection of plants with distinctive smells, a chalkboard, a wheelchair friendly gardening table and a swivelling kaleidoscope installation.

Bagnalls Painting and Decorating contractors carried out the work, with the Weathershield Smooth Masonry coating being showerproof in 30 minutes and only requiring two coats to produce a durable, weather resistant solution.
