Wetherby Building Systems Ltd has received two accolades in recognised industry awards from Insulated Render and Cladding Association (INCA).
Wetherby, a leading supplier and manufacturer of External Wall Insulation systems and decorative finishes, has been awarded top prizes in both a new build and refurbishment category.
Held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Leeds, the INCA Awards were hosted by comedian, actor and writer Marcus Brigstocke. They recognise innovation and outstanding workmanship by its members and the industry.
First of the triumphs was the win for Stanford Le Hope is Essex. This stood out to the judges against a wide range of exceptional projects for its work in creating the UK’s first zero carbon off site construction developments. At a time when so many residents are experiencing fuel poverty, this forward-thinking project will eliminate the worry with its ‘Zero Energy Bill’ homes.
Expert judges stated that the project was chosen because of such an impressive demonstration the role EWI can play in supporting sustainable, off-site construction.
In the Low-Rise Refurbishment with Render Finish category, Wetherby and recognised contractor Westville Group secured a joint win for Fletcher Street in Ripley.
The refurbishment of 92 mixed tenure properties impressed the judges at the industry awards with excellent detailing and extremely high-quality finish, which delivered significant and impressive visual and thermal improvements. The project seen an outstanding decrease in u values and residents delighted with the reduction in energy bills.
A resident of Fletcher Street comments: “Really pleased. I’ve noticed a real difference in how much I have to put the heating on. Before the insulation was fitted, my bedroom used to be very cold on the gable end, and now, it needs no extra heat from my electric heaters. I’m also very pleased with how everything looks; it’s made a huge difference.”
