What colours do LST radiators come in?

  • 3 May 2019

Contour understands that every customer is different and not everyone wants the same standard white LST radiator in their school, hospital, care home or nursery. That’s why Contour offers a range of colour options for its customers.

In certain spaces, particularly where young and vulnerable people are spending time such as in a hospital, the design of a room should accommodate a comforting atmosphere as well as a practical one. Therefore, Contour can install coloured LST radiators that blend with the theme of a room. For example, Contour recently completed a project installing green LST radiators into a children’s ward with a jungle theme.

Plus, colours also have a safety benefit that they bring when used on LST Radiators. In certain spaces, particularly dementia wards, there is an issue with service users becoming confused about where bathroom facilities are. Unable to make a differentiation between white LST radiators and other white goods, such as toilets, there have been cases where radiator covers have been used as urinals or toilets. Consequently, the installation of coloured LST radiators that blend into the paint colours used on the walls already, can reduce the risk of this happening. This then gives patients back their dignity by eliminating the risk of unsanitary incidents in public wards and communal areas in the care space.

Working from a RAL chart, Contour is able to provide almost any colour LST radiator, meaning that it can match whatever colour scheme you need your LSTs to match. All customers need to do is to provide Contour with a four-digit RAL code. Through close consultation with the customer, Contour can make recommendations using its expertise to ensure that the right colours are coordinated with the customer’s needs.

Contour also understands the need for an appropriately coloured radiator. For example, Contour wouldn’t recommend a blue LST radiator for a facility treating those with eating disorders because of its suppressing effect on appetite.

Overall, whatever colour radiator you’re looking for, for whatever reason, Contour has a solution.
