Glazing Vision rooflights shortlisted for the AJ Specification Awards 2019

  • 28 Jan 2019

Two projects from Glazing Vision have been shortlisted in the ‘Windows and Doors’ award category at the inaugural AJ Specification Awards.

These new awards recognise the importance of the collaboration between architects, suppliers and manufacturers on each project and the positive impact this can have.

The first project to be shortlisted was the elegant extension, designed by award-winning practice Chris Dyson Architects, which the company supplied the bespoke rooflights for.

This not only significantly increased the footprint of the client’s North London home, but also flooded the ground floor with natural light.

The innovative use of glazing for the extension and new top floor dormer have transformed this home and it simply cannot fail to impress; the architectural language reflects the calm, understated style for which Chris Dyson Architects have become acclaimed.

Further to this, Glazing Vision have been shortlisted for work completed on the re-energised Machrie Links Hotel and Golf Club.

The impressive Ridgeglaze rooflight has been designed to run along the entire apex of the roof. Providing natural daylight, it has become a feature of the restaurant and bar area, allowing plenty of natural daylight in and helping to create a much brighter open space.

Each category is judged by a panel of experts in their fields, including leading developers, clients, architects and engineers, such as Duncan Blackmore of Arrant Land, Carol Pyrah of Historic England, Teri Okoro of TOCA and Alan Lucas of Laing O’Rourke.

They will be looking at how each project was able to meet the challenge or exceed the brief, while demonstrating quality teamwork and collaboration between architect and supplier.

The winners will be announced at a celebratory lunch to be held in Manchester on 15 February.

Glazing Vision offer its congratulations to all the shortlisted practices, companies and suppliers.
