CMS Window Systems has been named a double award winner in the prestigious G19 Awards, with success in the Sustainability Initiative of the Year category and recognition for the outstanding individual work of its contracts manager John Deacon.
Having grown to become Scotland’s largest window, door and curtain walling manufacturer and installer in just 13 years, CMS has demonstrated how having sustainability at the heart of its business strategy has enabled it to thrive and offer a new proposition to customers.
The company has pioneered a ‘closed loop’ approach to windows and doors, guaranteeing all the products it manufactures are done so in a highly resource-efficient way, and 100% of post-consumer products which are removed during replacement contracts are collected, separated and recycled.
Sustainability for CMS and its team, however, is not just confined to environmental issues, as the second G Award for its contracts manager John Deacon illustrates.
John (pictured above the headline, right) was recognised for his tireless efforts in helping to deliver social improvements in the areas where CMS operates by being presented with the Unsung Hero award.
His commitment to going the extra mile is illustrated by the range of charities that he personally works with across Scotland – often in his spare time – who support disadvantaged communities, including the Cottage Family Centre in Fife.
David Ritchie, CEO at CMS Window Systems, commented: “We are absolutely thrilled to win the G19 award for Sustainability Initiative of the Year and to see John Deacon recognised for the amazing work he does which makes a real difference to people’s lives.
“Both awards are fantastic endorsements of our team’s positive approach to sustainability, which underpins everything we do to benefit our workforce, our customers and local communities, whilst at the same time putting us on track for a net zero carbon future by 2045 in line with the Scottish Government’s zero carbon agenda – five years ahead of the UK as a whole.”
