Following a vote at the National Association of Rooflight Manufacturers’ Annual General Meeting last month, it has been announced that Stuart Middle has been appointed as the Chairman of the association’s Technical Committee.
Stuart is set to bring a wealth of experience to the role, courtesy of his position as Senior Engineer at Brett Martin Daylight Systems.
Stuart fills this pivotal role at the National Association of Rooflight Manufacturers (NARM), following the decision of Bill Hawker, also of Brett Martin Daylight Systems, to stand down after more than a decade in the position.
NARM’s Technical Committee meets on a regular basis and plays a crucial part in establishing the effects of rooflighting on building performance and in the development of rooflight standards, which protect the UK industry from potentially poorly performing products.
Stuart expressed his delight at the news: “I’m excited to be taking on this challenge and look forward to building on the achievements of the Committee.
“It’s a wide-ranging job, as NARM’s membership includes suppliers of all different rooflighting products and technologies – and with so much change currently facing the construction industry, I’m sure we’ll be kept busy.”
Jim Lowther, NARM Chairman, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Stuart to his new role. His expertise and experience is highly valued.
“I also take this opportunity to thank Bill Hawker for his outstanding contribution to NARM over many years.”
For further information, please contact NARM using the contact details on our website, where you will be directed to the appropriate person.
