As part of this year’s VE Day 75 celebrations (May 8 – 10), Hambleside Danelaw is raising money for Combat Stress, the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health.
Hambleside Danelaw is appealing for donations towards its £3000 target for the charity via a special JustGiving page.
In addition, the company has created a special page on its website for people to post and share their memories and stories from families and friends of the original VE Day, to preserve the stories for posterity.
In a further effort to raise money for Combat Stress, the company is entering a team in August’s ‘Mudnificent 7’ event, whereby competitors tackle a seven mile long obstacle course.
Ann Leeson, Hambleside Danelaw marketing manager, commented: “Please help us achieve our target for Combat Stress, either by donating via the JustGiving page, or sponsoring the team in Mudnificient 7.
“The work the charity does, helping veterans deal with mental health issues, is needed as much now as it was 75 years ago.”
